Our Wedding Week // Oahu, HI

One of the things we found most exciting about having a destination wedding was that we’d have all our friends and family together for multiple days, hanging out, exploring, and getting to know each other better before and after our actual wedding. We didn’t have a wedding day, we had a wedding WEEK - and it was thee absolute best week. Of course I brought my camera all around, along with a little Sony vlog camera that we also took some photos on and obviously my phone, so various image qualities happening below haha.

Honestly this is more of a diary for us so we can look back and remember the week!

7.18.18 // DAY 1

We arrived with our families in the afternoon. Keep in mind it’s a full days travel and a 6 hour time change so we were pretty exhausted. We did our grocery shopping for the week and stopped at one of our favorite overlooks, Makapu’u Lookout.

7.19.18 // Day 2

We choose to stay in one big house with our parents + siblings so we could all be together. We all woke up at like 5 am (lol TIME CHANGE) and hungout on the water, had breakfast, almost burned the Airbnb down (casual), and JP and I went to pick up our Marriage License! Then we went to “lei” all our family + friends flying in that day at the airport and grilled out at our Airbnb for all our guests!

7.20.18 // DAY 3

Definitely one of my favorite days where we all caravanned around the island. We started by going to some of our favorite lookouts for the prettiest views (Makapu’u, Halona Blowhole, and Sandy Beach). We spent most of the afternoon at Hanauma Bay, hanging out on the beach and snorkeling! After that we hiked Diamond Head, got shave ice, and watched the sunset on Waikiki.

7.21.18 // DAY 4

Some went to Pearl Harbor and the rest of us spent the morning + afternoon at Waikiki lounging, surfing, and just hanging out! That evening we had a joint bachelor/bachelorette party in Waikiki!

7.22.18 // DAY 5 - REHEARSAL DINNER

We spent the morning at the Swap Meet (basically the biggest, best Hawaiian Flea market), it’s one of my favorite things to do on Oahu! That evening was our REHEARSAL DINNER hosted by the Jakes at The YWCA clubhouse in Kokokahi.

7.24.19 // Day 7

We decided to spend our last day with everyone and I’m so glad we did cause it was my favorite day! We started the day off at the Dole Plantation Pineapple Maze (one of my favorite things to do since I was a kid - more for the nostalgia hahah), and then hung out in Haleiwa and had lunch at the food trucks which are thee best! We spent the rest of the afternoon + evening at Waimea Bay, another one of my favorite spots. It’s a beautiful beach with a 30 ft rock that you can jump into the ocean, a must do on the North Shore! That night we picked up dinner and had all the friends back to our Airbnb to hangout and try to finish all the beer since we were all leaving the following day (LOL). I left my camera at home this day so all these are phone + Sony pics!

7.25.20 // HONEYMOON TIME on Maui - Post to come!

Here’s a vlog video of the week! We took all these videos just to have the memories, unsure of what we were really going to do. So it is far from a great video as I had never used Premiere Pro before, and it’s very long hahah.
